​How to Hand Express:
-
The fingers and thumb of one hand are placed back behind the areola​
-
The fingers and thumb push back towards the chest wall​
-
The fingers and thumb move closer together while creating pressure towards the nipple ​
-
Release the pressure on the breast and repeat​
-
Collect expressed colostrum or milk in a medicine cup, spoon, and/or syringe
